Dear Parents,

We are delighted to announce that Mummy SOS® will be running a ‘Supervised Free Time’ Summer Camp at Edwinstree School this summer holidays for children aged 8 to 15 years old. (Youths aged 16 to 18 are welcome to enquire about work experience roles.)

Although we are calling it ‘camp’, the idea really is to just offer the supervision to allow older children to enjoy their free time together! Of course there is still a huge range within the 8-15 age group, but at Mummy SOS, we don’t treat children as a group, but each as unique individuals, and that is what this camp is all about. Your child, enjoying their summer, how they want to! (With staff onsite to ensure their safety and wellbeing!)

Throughout each session there will be a great range of resources available for children to use as and when they wish. Staff will lead activities as required and requested, whilst also encouraging group led play and allowing children to explore their independence or pursue their own preferred pastimes.

The camp will be running weeks 1 – 5 of the school holidays.

During week 6, the Buntingford School of Dance will be running a dance camp at Edwinstree School: 28th, 29th, 30th August. Please contact zoe.buntingforddance@gmail.com for more information or to book.

Mummy SOS summer camp sessions will run 9am – 1pm and 1pm – 5pm Monday to Friday.

Week 1: 23rd – 27th July

Week 2: 30th July – 3rd August

Week 3: 6th – 10th August

Week 4: 13th – 17th August

Week 5: 20th – 24th August

Prices:

9am – 1pm £12

1pm – 5pm £12

9am – 5pm £22

Unfortunately we are unable to accept childcare vouchers for this provision.

There will be additional charges for optional on and off site activities.

Payments may be refunded until 30th June only, after this date cancellations will not be refunded.

Although we will not be able to offer wrap around care at Edwinstree, we hope to do so through our Mummy SOS childminding service, which should be up and running by the beginning of the summer. If you are interested in additional sessions between 7:15 – 9:00am and 5:00 – 6:15pm, please email info@mummy-sos.com saying you are interested in this additional service, and we will keep you updated.

Children will need to bring their own food and drinks. Each child must bring a named water bottle, which they will be able to refill from the tap throughout the day.

We will be offering a brilliant range of on and off site activities, working in conjunction with the Buntingford Town activity programme. As soon as this programme is confirmed we will be sending out details, but a few examples of activities available are: Swimming, Football, Tennis, Cooking, Cricket, Rounders, Boxing, Fitness, Arts and Crafts, Film Showings, Playground games e.g. bulldog, capture the flag, camouflage etc, Skills workshops (e.g. gymnastics, dance, drama, music, model building, creative writing, drawing), Slip and Slide, Water Fight and a variety of Day Trips.

N.B. Some activities will be available at an additional charge – details to follow with Town Council Summer Programme (expected end of June) around which we will plan our own activity schedule.

If you wish to send your children with their own electronic devices, they must adhere to our digital safeguarding rules (all attendees must sign our Camp Contract which is attached). They may bring bikes, scooters and skateboards as long as they bring and wear a helmet and any other appropriate safety equipment. We cannot be held responsible for any personal belongings they bring.

Due to the age range of children this provision will cater for, we are exempt from Ofsted registration, but will still be adhering to all their guidelines to ensure the highest standard of care.

In response to the many enquiries we have had about offering wraparound care at Edwinstree, we are hoping to be able to do so in the near future, but cannot confirm any details yet. Please email info@mummy-sos.com if you are interested in this service and we will keep you updated.
